Ian Reardon, M.S.

Founder | Mental Performance Coach


Ian Reardon is the founder of The Mental Barbell, a former NCAA National Champion swimmer, and current strength sport athlete. He earned his master’s degree in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College and has worked with athletes across a wide range of sports, helping them strengthen confidence, focus, and resilience. Now based in Western Michigan, Ian combines his background as an elite athlete, NCAA coach, and mental performance consultant to help athletes train their minds like they train their bodies.

Anthony Carnevale, M.Ed.

Mental Performance Coach


Anthony is a lifelong athlete and sport psychology consultant who has worked with athletes from youth levels to NCAA Division I programs. He earned his master’s degree in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College and is currently completing his PsyD in sport and performance psychology. In addition to his work with The Mental Barbell, he serves as Head Sport Psychologist at Marist College, supporting Division I athletes in both mental health and peak performance.

Mike Mancini, M.S.A.

Mental Performance Coach


Mike Mancini is a lifelong athlete, coach, and parent of competitive athletes who understands the impact mindset has on performance and enjoyment in sport. A former baseball player and current rec hockey player and golfer, he combines his sport background with time in higher education to help athletes maximize their potential. Mike holds a BA in Psychology and an MSA from the University of Notre Dame, and is a certified Mental Performance Coach with the International Mental Game Coaching Association.
